Supporters Group

If you feel you are unable to commit time to volunteering at the moment but you would still like to support us in some way, why not join our Supporters Group; you can stay connected with us and help us to continue our work in the Highlands.

As a member:

  • You’ll be helping us to support people in the Highlands, who are lonely and isolated, and are struggling with their mental health, their memory, or the increased strain of being an unpaid carer.
  • You'll be helping us to develop new services for the Highland community, as well as, expanding the capacity, and options within, our current services*

  • You can have your say and help shape our work in the Highlands.

  • You’ll receive invitations to Befrienders Highland social events throughout the year. These occasions are an opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals and connect with the work we do here at Befrienders Highland.
  • You’ll hear about mental health training and development opportunities through our email communications, and be intvited to join us on any Befrienders Highland organised courses or workshops.
  • You’ll be kept informed about what’s happening at Befrienders Highland and how your support is making a difference through our 'Wee Blether' e-newsletter
  • You'll be invited to our Skill Share events, where you can learn new things and socialise with the team and members.

How much does it cost?

Membership costs £3 donation per month (by direct debit).

*Service Development

We currently offer 3 main Services but are looking to develop 2 additional services (Group Befriending and Peer Befriending).

All our services are free of charge as we believe everyone using our services should be entitled to an equal level of support and care, no matter what their financial situation.

We are only able to provide these vital services through the kindness of those who support us.

Traditionally, supporting Befrienders Highland has been done in a number of ways which includes volunteering, donating, and fundraising. This compassionate support has allowed Befrienders Highland to provide essential services to the Highland community for 30 years now and we appreciate and celebrate everyone who has been connected with us through this time.

As times change, we would like to offer new ways to support Befrienders Highland.

We understand there are many people who feel they are unable to volunteer, we also understand that many people want to be more involved with us than giving a one-off donation; they would like to be part of the team. Becoming a member of the Befrienders Highland Supporters Group allows you to get involved at the level that's right for you.

If you would like to become a member, we would ask a £3 donation per month, please call us on 01463 712 791, email info@befriendershighland.org.uk, or contact us.
