Services
Our befriending services help to reduce loneliness and isolation, by matching people with a trained volunteer. Befriending is confidential, and helps to build confidence and self esteem over time. Regular social contact helps people create a greater sense of belonging in their local communities.
Befrienders Highland can offer befriending for people experiencing mental ill health, or memory loss, and also support unpaid adult carers. Each of these life experiences can lead to social isolation and loneliness.
As a charity, we offer services free of charge, but always welcome donations.
We are now open for a limited number of referrals for all our befriending services throughout Highland. Referrals will be prioritised according to volunteer capacity/location.
