Our Volunteers - Javier Moreno

Posted on

Javier could not speak English when he arrived in Strathpeffer in 2018, but he attended UHI to learn the language and get more involved in the community. He has almost completed his Befrienders Highland volunteer training and looks forward to supporting those who are going through a tough time. Read his story below.

(34) from Spain has completed levels three to five of English for Speakers of Other Languages at UHI Inverness and will study Business and Accounting in the new academic year.

“The opportunities that Scotland offers, it is amazing to me. My feeling is I have endless options to study and to keep improving my life. The best thing about studying here is the people. People help each other here and I can feel it. I think helping each other is the best way of living.”
